Join us for our summer Sketch & Painting Workshop series. This July we are offering two workshop events that will take place on two consecutive Thursday evenings this July, the 18th and 25th, both from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Attendees can elect to join us for both workshops to explore more of their creative side! Simply select the July 18th date, and register for a "Two Session Ticket" option. This series will highlight the artistic history, aesthetic, and technique of Edgar Miller's most prolific and versatile set of artistic mediums: sketch & paint design.

Led by contemporary Chicago artist-designer, Sharon Bladholm, these workshops will allow attendees to follow in the footsteps of Miller's conceptual process from inspiration to realization. Attendees will create their own Miller-inspired charcoal sketch, followed by producing a gouache painted piece in the style of a Miller landscape, still life or portrait. Each session will also include a brief seminar exploring examples from our archives highlighting Miller's process of creative and aesthetic development through sketching and painting, activities that he practiced daily throughout his adult life.

Come and spend a fun evening of learning and hands-on creative work. Light snacks and drinks will be provided during the workshop. This leisure workshop is perfect for craftwork beginners of all ages!

Join us for our summer Glass-tile Mosaics Workshop series. This two-part workshop event will take place on consecutive Thursday evenings this June, 20th and 27th, both from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Tickets will register and cover your attendance for both dates. This series will highlight the artistic history, aesthetic, and technique of one of Edgar Miller's most iconic medium: tile mosaics.

Led by contemporary Chicago artist-designer, Sharon Bladholm, these workshops will allow attendees to learn and practice the process for cut-glass design and tile-work in the style of Edgar Miller. Attendees will select their own tile and cut their own stained glass during this workshop to create their own Miller-inspired fixed glass mosaic piece to make and take home. Each session will also include a brief seminar exploring examples of Miller's tile and mosaic art pieces that still decorate spaces like the handmade homes today.

Come and spend a fun evening of learning and hands-on crafting, exploring the aesthetic of tile mosaics. Light snacks and drinks will be provided during the workshop!

Partnership Workshops with Art on Sedgwick

We are excited to announce our first official partnership with Art on Sedgwick, a Chicago-based neighborhood organization that provides extra curricular arts education to grade school students in our community 2018-2019 programming year. Together, Edgar Miller Legacy and Art on Sedgwick will be facilitating a program for students to learn about the history of Edgar Miller in and out of their classrooms. These burgeoning artists will join us for site tours of the Glasner Studio to see Miller’s work up close. Partial support for this program is being generously provided through a grant from the Old Town Triangle Association

This program will culminate in a Community Art Show on June 1st, 2018, where student artwork inspired by the program will be displayed. More information will be announced in our Spring 2018 newsletter!
