Explore the storied history of Edgar Miller's Handmade Homes of Old Town this summer and fall with Edgar Miller Legacy! This one and a half hour tour will cover a little over one mile in the Old Town and Old Town Triangle neighborhoods on Chicago’s Near North Side.

Beginning at the Art on Sedgwick Gallery (1404 North Sedgwick Street, Chicago) with an overview of Old Town through the lens of the Handmade Histories exhibition, attendees will then visit sites within and around the West Burton Place Historic District and up into the Old Town Triangle, viewing the exteriors of Edgar Miller and Sol Kogen's Carl Street Studios and Kogen-Miller Studios complexes. Other stops along the way will include some of the inspired "handmade" residential projects that are also home to artwork and design by Miller, Jesús Torres, and many others. At the start of the tour, attendees will be able to get a link to a curated webpage featuring historical images and supplementary content related to our route, which will be accessible by mobile device throughout the tour. Please arrive with your phone as fully charged as possible.

Please note that we will not visit any site or private property interiors, and there will be no access for bathroom breaks or accommodations for transportation. It is recommended to dress appropriately for the weather, bring any necessary accessories in case of light rain, wear suitable walking shoes, and bring plenty of water.
