Here it is folks, the moment we’ve all been waiting for! Well, perhaps no one has been on the edge of their seats waiting for the Edgar Miller website to come out. Who even knew it was in development? And what you are looking at today in March 2015 is by no means the final iteration of our online presence, but for now, it’s a good start to a long project of making Edgar Miller’s art known to the world. We think Edgar would have been fascinated by the new information age he almost witnessed and surely had some idea was about to emerge when he died in 1993.
Through this site, we hope to do many things, but primarily our goals are to document and archive much of Miller’s artwork, interior designs, and writings, as well as accumulate and publish interviews of people who either knew him personally and/or can speak to Miller’s influence on art, life, and Chicago, where he worked almost exclusively. As this is an ongoing project, we do not expect this website to remain a static platform, so if things have moved since the last time you visited, don’t be alarmed.
Thank you for taking the time to visit the Edgar Miller Legacy and we hope you share in the joy of Miller’s work as much as we do. He was a truly exceptional artist who not only created a copious amount of art in his lifetime but physically altered the landscape through many architectural and design projects. That he was nearly forgotten to history is somewhat shocking, but that too is now part of his story. We hope you check back in from time to time to keep up with our work!
